Strengthening Prevention Measures Against Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI)
To prevent the spread of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI or Avian Flu) within Madagascar, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock has implemented new sanitary measures. Certain commercial products and parcels from Réunion, even for personal use, are now prohibited from being transported by passengers:
- Domestic and wild poultry
- Hatching eggs
- Poultry products
- Raw, refrigerated, or frozen poultry meat
- Processed poultry meat (dried, salted, smoked)
- Used poultry equipment
Additionally, all packages and luggage will undergo disinfection and inspection at international airports.

Passengers on international flights can check in online or at the Madagascar Airlines check-in counter at the airport.
Please note that the check-in deadline is 1 hour before departure for both long-haul (Antananarivo - Paris, Paris - Antananarivo) and regional flights (Antananarivo - Reunion, Reunion - Antananarivo).
Online Check-in Closing Time :
You can check in online between 30 hours and 120 minutes before your flight. However, you must still drop off your baggage at the airport check-in counter.
