From online check-in to baggage drop-off, follow our step-by-step guide for a smooth and efficient boarding experience with Madagascar Airlines.

Check-in at the airport:

1. How long before your flight should you arrive at the airport? and how to locate the check-in counter

  • Recommended arrival time: It is strongly advised to arrive at the airport 3h before the flight for internationals and 2h before for domestic flights
  • Counter identification: Madagascar Airlines has its own check-in counters. Find the one that corresponds to your flight (example: MD312) by using billboards or asking airport staff for help.

2. Presentation of your travel documents

  • Passport: Make sure your passport or ID is valid
  • Boarding pass: If you checked in online, you may already have your boarding pass. Otherwise, it will be given to you at this stage.
  • Visa: for international flights

3. Baggage check-in

  • Weight and dimensions: Respect the weight and size limits allowed for your luggage in the hold. You will find on our dedicated page the information on the dimensions and weights allowed.
  • Prohibited items: Find out about prohibited items in hold and cabin baggage. See our page dedicated to dangerous goods
  • Baggage Tags: Check-in agents will put tags on your baggage to identify it and take it to your destination.

4. Security check

  • Mandatory passage: After check-in, you will have to go through a security check.
  • Objects to be removed: Remove all metal objects (belt, keys, mobile phone, etc.) and place them in the bins provided for this purpose.
  • Liquids: The liquids you carry in your hand luggage must be packed in containers of up to 100 ml and placed in a resealable transparent bag.

5. Access to the boarding room

  • Boarding pass: Present your boarding pass to the boarding agent.
  • Boarding gate: Find your boarding gate number on your boarding pass.

Before you check in online, please ensure you have the following documents ready:

  • Your ticket, including your reservation file number
  • Your passport

Please note:

  • Online check-in is available 30 hours prior to departure.
  • You can check in online for all passengers within the same booking. However, after completing online check-in, you must visit the airport check-in counters to drop off your checked baggage.

Step-by-Step Guide to Online Check-in:

Step 1: Identification

  • On the homepage, click on "Check-in".
  • Enter your "Reservation number" and the "Last name" of one passenger if there are multiple travelers in the same booking.
  • Click on "Check-in".

Step 2: Trip Summary

  • In this step, you can:
    • Add additional passengers by clicking on "Add passengers" if there are multiple travelers.
    • Select or change your seat (subject to availability and potential fees).
  • Enter the required information for each passenger and click on "Confirm registration".

Step 3: Passenger Information

  • Complete all mandatory fields in the form.
  • Check the box that states, "I certify that the information provided is accurate and correct."
  • Click on "Confirm details".

Step 4: Boarding Pass

  • In this step, you can:
    • View your check-in status.
    • Choose how you would like to receive your boarding pass(es).
    • Print your boarding pass(es).

Step 5: Confirmation Page (Check-in Complete)

  • On this final page, you will find a summary of your trip, including the following information:
    • Baggage drop-off deadline
    • Boarding time (latest time to arrive at the boarding gate)
    • Terminal number
    • Gate number (subject to availability)
