The checked baggage allowance on Madagascar Airlines depends on your travel class (Privilege/Business or Leisure/Economy), the fare family of your ticket, and the destination of your flight (domestic, regional, or long-haul).

The maximum dimensions or the sum of the length, width, and depth of your baggage must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches), including handles, wheels, and pockets.

Checked Baggage on our Domestic Flights :

This applies to passengers with a Madagascar Airlines ticket traveling on flights between two cities in Madagascar. It also includes passengers connecting to or from partner airlines (Corsair, Air France, Air Austral…).

  • Economy Class (Leisure): 1 piece of baggage allowed, not exceeding 20 kg (44 lbs).
  • Business Class (Privilege): 1 piece of baggage allowed, not exceeding 30 kg (66 lbs).

Checked Baggage on Long-Haul Flights (operated by Madagascar Airlines) :

This policy covers passengers traveling on a long-haul flight identified by the Madagascar Airlines (MD) code, which is part of a connecting itinerary involving a flight operated by a Madagascar Airlines codeshare partner.

  • Economy Class: 2 pieces of baggage allowed, each not exceeding 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Business Class: 2 pieces of baggage allowed, each not exceeding 32 kg (70 lbs).

For connections with other airlines, please refer to their baggage policy. The baggage allowance for Madagascar Airlines domestic flights applies to flights operated by our partners.

Carry-on Baggage

The carry-on baggage allowance on Madagascar Airlines varies depending on your travel class (Leisure/Economy or Privilege/Business), the fare family of your ticket, and the destination of your flight.

Maximum Dimensions : The sum of the length, width, and depth of your baggage must not exceed 105 cm (41 inches), including handles, wheels, and pockets.

  • Economy Class (Leisure): 1 piece of baggage allowed, not exceeding 12 kg (26 lbs).
  • Business Class (Privilege): 2 pieces of baggage allowed, with a total weight not exceeding 18 kg (40 lbs).

Important Additional Information:

  • Essential Verification: It is crucial to check the specific conditions of your ticket, as different rules may apply depending on the fare family.
  • Connecting Flights with Other Airlines: For connecting flights with partner airlines, please refer to the baggage policies of each respective airline.
  • Permitted Personal Items (in addition to carry-on baggage): You are allowed to bring the following items into the cabin free of charge, in addition to your carry-on bag:
    • A small handbag
    • A laptop bag
    • A camera
  • Restrictions on Liquids in the Cabin (All Flights):
