Important Information Regarding Connections and Flights with Our Partners:

Please note that for connecting flights with other airlines or for tickets purchased through our partner companies, the baggage policies of each carrier will apply. This is particularly important for long-haul flights. We strongly recommend that you consult the specific terms and conditions of carriage of these companies on their respective websites.

To help you better prepare for your journey, please take note of the baggage allowances applicable on our domestic flights:

Checked Baggage (Hold Luggage):

  • Limit: 1 piece per passenger, not exceeding 20 kg (44 lbs).
  • Maximum Dimensions: The sum of the length, width, and depth must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) (accessories such as wheels and handles are included in these dimensions).

Cabin Baggage (Hand Luggage):

  • Adults and Children: 1 piece per passenger, not exceeding 5 kg (11 lbs). The maximum dimensions (length + width + height) must not exceed 105 cm (41 inches), including accessories.
  • Infants: In addition to the standard cabin baggage allowance, passengers traveling with an infant are permitted to bring a fully collapsible stroller and a small diaper bag with a maximum weight of 5 kg (11 lbs).

Baggage Allowance for Madagascar Airlines Tickets with a Connecting Flight on a Partner Airline (Departing from Provinces):

For passengers who have purchased a ticket from Madagascar Airlines departing from a provincial city and continuing on a Madagascar Airlines flight operated by a partner airline, the following baggage allowances apply:

Checked Baggage (Hold Luggage):

  • Economy Class: Allowance of 2 pieces, each not exceeding 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Business Class: Allowance of 2 pieces, each not exceeding 32 kg (70 lbs).

Cabin Baggage (Hand Luggage):

  • Economy Class: Allowance of 1 piece, not exceeding 12 kg (26 lbs).
  • Business Class: Allowance of 2 pieces, with a total weight not exceeding 18 kg (40 lbs).

Checking In Your Baggage

  • One-Stop Check-In: Simply check in your baggage at your departure airport, and it will be transferred to your final destination, provided all flights are operated by Madagascar Airlines or our partners.
  • Verify Baggage Tags: Before leaving the airport, double-check that your baggage is correctly tagged with your name and final destination.

Valuables and Fragile Items

  • Carry On: For valuables (jewelry, money, electronics) or fragile items, it is strongly recommended to carry them on board.
  • Insure Your Baggage: Consider purchasing travel insurance to protect your baggage against loss, theft, or damage.

Delays and Cancellations

  • In Case of Delays or Cancellations: Our teams will do everything possible to locate your baggage and return it to you as soon as possible.
  • Report Lost Baggage: If you cannot find your baggage upon arrival, please report it immediately to our staff.
